Southport Conservative councillors and campaigners, have hit back at claims from Sefton Labour that ‘hundreds and thousands of cycle journeys’ have been made on the supposedly temporary cycle lane on Hoghton Street and Chapel Street.
During a heated debate at the recent Sefton Council meeting, Conservative Councillor Mike Prendergast, has criticised the Labour Party in Sefton for presiding over a failing Children’s Social Services Department.
Local Campaigners have been ‘disappointed but unsurprised’ by the announcement this week that
the cycle lane project introduced down Hoghton Street and Queens Road last summer will now be
expanded to include areas of Churchtown, Crossens and Birkdale Village.
